The 1925/26 season was the 4th staging of the Austrian ice hockey championship organized by the ÖEHV . The Austrian Championship was won by the Vienna Ice Skating Club .
mode
The staging mode for the 1925/26 season was called the Vienna system and provided for a common division for all participants, which played a total of four main rounds and three intermediate rounds.
The individual encounters in the main round were drawn by lots, followed by an intermediate or elimination round with the losers from the main round and teams without play. The losers in the intermediate rounds were eliminated from the game. The last four remaining teams then played the fourth main round (as a single round) for the championship title.
Depending on their placement within the championship of the previous year, the first six teams received these byes for the first or second round, so that, for example, the first team of the Vienna Ice Skating Club only entered the game as the reigning champion in the third round.
