The Austrian women's soccer championship was held for the 18th time in 1989/90 after the 35-year break between 1938 and 1972. The top division is the women's Bundesliga and was held for the 8th time by the Austrian Football Association . The second highest division , this season the 11th edition, was the women's league east, which was organized for the 8th time by the Vienna Football Association .

Union Kleinmünchen became Austrian football champions for the first time . The champion of the second highest division was in the women's league east of DFC Laimbach .

The league was made up of twelve teams compared to the previous year, in which eleven clubs participated, because KSV Wiener Berufsschulen and DFC St. Peter / Ottersbach were not there. New to the league were SC Neunkirchen , SV Wienerfeld and First Vienna FC 1894 .

    The league was composed of six clubs compared to the previous year, in which nine clubs participated. New this were Austria XIII as well as the B team of SV Wienerfeld instead of SC Neunkirchen , SV Wienerfeld, SC Krems , ESV Oberndorf and SC Stetteldorf . This season, DFC Laimbach won the championship , but it is not entitled to play in the top division next season.

    It is the first record of a women's league in Upper Austria.

    The league consisted of eight clubs that played against each other in 2 rounds, a round trip and a second round. The champions of the Upper Austrian women's league were determined in 14 rounds.

    Season course

    The league was made up of a total of eight clubs, all of which were interested in participating in an Upper Austrian championship. This season, Eintracht Wels became champions , but they are not allowed to play in the top division next season. Union Ansfelden stopped playing at the end of the season.
