The 1st Amateur League South Baden 1977/78 was the 28th and last season of the 1st amateur soccer league in South Baden, which was replaced in 1978 by the soccer Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemberg as the new third highest German division under the two-pronged 2nd Bundesliga . The top division in South Baden from 1978 onwards was the South Baden Football Association .
In 1978, the South Baden amateur soccer championship was won by SC Freiburg , which also won the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga South .
The following clubs played in the new amateur league Baden-Württemberg: FC Rastatt , FC Villingen 08 , SV Kuppenheim , DJK Konstanz and Offenburger FV .
The following clubs played in the new Association League South Baden: SV Kirchzarten , SC Pfullendorf , SV Weil , Bahlinger SC , VfR Rheinfelden , VfB Gaggenau , FC Emmendingen , FC Konstanz , FC Gottmadingen , VfR Achern .
The FV Lörrach and FC Radolfzell had to dismount in the national league.
Newcomers to the new association league: SV Niederschopfheim, SV Hausach, Sportfreunde / DJK Freiburg , FC Friedlingen, FC Singen 04 and VfB Villingen.
FC Rastatt took part in the 1978 German amateur soccer championship as a representative of southern Baden . There you got to the semi-finals, where you had to retire against Baden's representative and the later German amateur champion SV Sandhausen .
