The 1st Soccer Amateur League Southwest 1976/77 was the 25th season of the third class 1st amateur league in regional men's soccer in the southern part of the state of  Rhineland-Palatinate and a predecessor of the Soccer Association League Southwest . The 1st Amateur League Southwest was formed in 1952 by amalgamating the amateur leagues  RheinhessenWest Palatinate  and  Front Palatinate and existed until the 1977/78 season as the third highest league. After the introduction of the Oberliga Südwest in 1978 as the highest amateur league, the league was renamed "Verbandsliga Südwest" and was only fourth class from that point on.

The championship was won by Wormatia Worms, who successfully completed the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga South and was promoted. Runner-up Hassia Bingen was allowed to take part in the German amateur football championship as a Southwest representative , but was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the Berlin representative BFC Preussen . SV Guntersblum and FV Speyer had to go to the 2nd amateur league . For the following season 1977/78 came as climbers from the 2nd amateur leagues of Ludwigshafener SC , SG Pirmasens , SV Horchheim and VfR Baumholder .
