Paris 1000 km race in 1960
The second 1000 km race of Paris , also 1000 kms de Paris, A Linas Montlhéry , took place on October 23, 1960 at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry . The race was not part of any racing series.
The race
In 1956 , a long-distance race over a distance of 1000 kilometers was held for the first time on the Montlhéry oval course . In the years that followed, those responsible at the Automobile Club de l'Île-de-France tried several times in vain to organize another race. It was not until 1960 that the necessary financial resources could be obtained to hold the second racing event under this name.
The race was announced for three GT classes and ended with a double victory for the Ecurie Francorchamps . Lucien Bianchi and Olivier Gendebien won in a Ferrari 250 GT SWB with a lead of 1 minute and 20 seconds over their team and brand colleagues Willy Mairesse and Wolfgang von Trips .
