Paris 1000 km race in 1969

Matra MS650

The ninth 1000 km race in Paris , also 1000 km de Paris (Course International de Vitesse D'Endurance), Linas-Montlhéry , took place on October 12, 1969 at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry . The race was the ninth round of the French Circuit Championship this year.

The race

In 1969, the 1000 km race in Paris was again part of a racing series. The French Circuit Championship was a championship that consisted of international and national sports car races. In addition to the 12-hour race in Sebring and the 1000 km races in Monza and Zeltweg , the series also included the Coupes de Vitesse and the Coupe du Salon , two other events that take place in Montlhéry, along with other races.

After the success of Louis Rosier , who had privately registered a Maserati 300S in 1956 , there was an overall victory for a French team for the second time. Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Henri Pescarolo won on a factory - Matra MS650 . Because of the persistent fog around the racetrack, the start of the race had to be postponed by several hours and shortened to half the distance due to the late start clearance.
