Paris 1000 km race in 1967

Mirage M1

The seventh 1000 km race of Paris , also 1000 Kms de Paris, LInas Montlhéry , took place on October 15, 1967 at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry . The race was not part of any racing series.

The race

Although the 1000 km race in Paris had no world championship status and was not part of any racing series, the event in 1967 also had an appealing field of participants. Factory cars were from Matra Sports and Alpine . However, the race, which ended in the rain, was won by a British vehicle. Jacky Ickx and Paul Hawkins won in a Mirage M1 reported by John Wyer .

The event was again overshadowed by a fatal accident. On the test day, a month before the actual race, the French Autodelta driver Jean Rolland had a fatal accident. When braking the Cuvette de Couard , the Alfa Romeo T33 had a brake defect. The car went off track, hit a tree, and went up in flames. Rolland died at the scene of the accident.
