Robert Dutoit

Robert Dutoit (* in Lille ) is a former French racing car driver .

Racing career

Robert Dutoit, whose mother was racing driver Marie Honoré , began his career in the mid-1950s. In 1955 he bought the Porsche 550/4 Spyder , with which Gonzague Olivier competed in the 1955 Le Mans 24-hour race (18th place with Josef Jeser ) . With the car he was ninth overall in the 500 km race at the Nürburgring in 1955 (winner Jean Behra in the factory - Maserati 150S ) and fifth in the Coupes de Vitesse in 1957 (winner Alfonso de Portago in a Ferrari 250 GT ).

In 1958 he drove a small VP at the Le Mans 24-hour race together with Jean-Marie Dumazer and in the following years became a regular starter in the Tour de France for automobiles . Robert Dutoit was active as a driver for two decades. In the 1970s, he still achieved good results in endurance races . In 1970 he finished tenth overall in the 1000 km race in Paris .
