José Rosinski
José Rosinski (born April 13, 1936 in Paris , † June 3, 2011 ) was a French racing car driver and journalist .
Racing career
José Rosinki's driving career began in the late 1950s. He contested his first races in Formula Junior , where he competed in the 1961 French championship in a Cooper T56 . In 1962 he won the XXXII on a Cooper T59 ahead of Jo Schlesser and John Hine at the Circuit de Chimay . Grand Prix des Frontières . After a few more monopostor races and a few rallies - including with Michèle Dubosc on an Alpine A108 at the Rallye de Lions in 1963 - he only raced sports cars from this year on.
He had his first outings in a sports car in 1959. Together with Claude Bobrowski , he finished 21st in the final classification of the Targa Florio . At the Tour de France for automobiles , his Alfa Romeo Giulietta failed after a defect; Teammate was Piero Frescobaldi .
Between 1960 and 1967 Rosinski competed in the Le Mans 24-hour race six times . He made his debut in 1960 on an Alfa Romeo , which he drove with the car owner Giorgio Ubezzi . In 1962 he won the experimental vehicle class with a capacity of up to 1 liter. The commitment for Alpine in 1963 ended tragically. Team mate Christian Heins had a fatal accident. He had his last start at Le Mans in 1967 , where he achieved another class victory together with Henri Grandsire in the Alpine A210 . After the race, he ended his racing career.
Journalist, book author and television presenter
During his active time as a driver, he began working as a journalist. In Auto-Sport , Gérard Crombac's magazine , he reported regularly on motorsport from 1962 onwards. Between 1979 and 1989 he commented on the races of the Formula 1 World Championship for the French TV channel TF1 , first together with Bernard Giroux , and from 1987 with Christian Van Ryswyck . Until he left in 1990, he was also active as a presenter at all Le Mans races broadcast by the station.
José Rosinski wrote a large number of books on a wide variety of topics in motorsport; including publications about Matra Sports and the racing driver Patrick Depailler .
