AD Trantenroth

Artur Dieter Trantenroth (* 1940 in Bochum ; † November 21, 2019 in Selb ) was a German sculptor , object artist and draftsman .

Life

Trantenroth initially completed an apprenticeship as an optician and as a ceramist. From 1964 to 1968 he studied ceramics (with Professor Uli Günther) and sculpture (with Professor Herbert Baumann ) at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart .

From 1968 he worked as a freelance sculptor in Wunsiedel , from 1973 in Großgeschaidt / Heroldsberg . From 1979 to 1980 he held a teaching position at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . From 1979 Trantenroth lived and worked in Bocholt , where he was a city artist. In 1985 he returned to Weißenstadt in the Fichtel Mountains .

From 1968 Trantenroth took part in numerous international sculpture symposia , including the sculpture symposium St. Margarethen / Austria (1969), in Burlington / United States (1971), the Symposion Urbanum , Nuremberg, (1971), the International Steel Sculpture Symposium Bochum (1979/80) or on the street of the sculptures (St. Wendel) (1988).

Trantenroth was a member of the German Association of Artists . Between 1968 and 1980 he took part in a total of eight large annual DKB exhibitions. In 2014 the artist donated a gift to the Bayreuth Art Museum ; The museum also takes over Trantenroth's estate with sculptures, models and drawings on permanent loan from the Oberfrankenstiftung.
