The A2204 is a Class I road that was established in the London area in 1922 with the name "Road at Woolwich Ferry". It runs from the A206 to the Woolwich ferry terminal on the Thames. First it ran over Hare Street to the pier, where the entrance to the pedestrian tunnel under the Thames is also located. In the 1960s, a new ferry pier was built a little further east, including the access road, and the A2204 was moved there. The old A2204 no longer exists today - a building now stands where it ran (status 2014: Waterfront Leisure Center).
