A Grupa 1981/82

The A Grupa 1982/83 was the 59th season of the highest Bulgarian football league . The season began on August 21, 1982 and ended on June 11, 1983.

The 16 teams played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first and a second round. The two bottom of the table were relegated directly and were replaced by the two winners of the north and south groups of the B Grupa . The teams in positions 13 and 14 played in the relegation against the second place finishers of the B Grupa for two more starting positions for the following season.

From this season on, the winner of the Bulgarian Football Cup qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup . For this, the winner took the running to 1990 Soviet Army Cup at UEFA Cup part.
