Life

Helcelet's interest in the decathlon was piqued at a young age. At that time he watched the top performances of his compatriots, together with his father, in front of the television. Already from 1996 he took his first attempts in the athlete. At the age of 16 he moved to Prague , where he trained under the guidance of three-time world champion Tomáš Dvořák until 2012 .

Street names in the cities of Brno and Olomouc are dedicated to the Helcelet family , which is why history is a great passion for them. Helcelet studied modern history and politics. In 2019 he and some friends launched the website decathlonpedia.com, which provides information about the history, the process and the lifestyle around the decathlon. Helcelet had been in a relationship with the former Czech indoor European champion Denisa Rosolová since 2015 , whom he married in 2019. Together they are parents of one daughter.
