The 1953/54 season of the Amateur Oberliga Niedersachsen was the fifth season of highest Lower Saxony amateur league in football . At that time it took the second highest level in the German league system. A master was not played out. VfB Oldenburg , Teutonia Uelzen and VfL Wolfsburg qualified for the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord , with Oldenburg and Wolfsburg prevailing. From the Oberliga Nord no team was relegated to the Amateur Oberliga Niedersachsen.

The relegation places were occupied by TSV Verden in the west and by FT Braunschweig in the east . For that rose from the amateur league Lower Saxony of BV Cloppenburg and TSV Havelse in the Group West and the amateurs of Eintracht Braunschweig and VfB Fallersleben on the Group East. The football department of MTV Braunschweig split off as Leu Braunschweig .

    Playoffs for 13th place

    The teams from Grone, Werder Hannover and Wolfenbüttel with the same points should determine the second relegated team from the East relay in the league system . First Hanover and Grone parted on May 30, 1954 in Freden 1: 1, before Wolfenbüttel beat Hanover 1: 0 on June 5, 1954 in Peine . After VfL Wolfsburg made it to the Oberliga Nord, the game between Wolfenbüttel and Grone scheduled for June 12, 1954 in Goslar was canceled. None of the three teams had to be relegated.

    Promotion round to the amateur league

    The seven champions of the amateur leagues identified in the league system four climbers in the national league. The two group winners and runners-up rose. The master of the amateur league 6 SpVgg Rotenburg declined to participate. The runner-up Germania Walsrode moved up.
