The Bochum office was an administrative district of the Grafschaft Mark .

Until 1817

The Bochum office was divided into an upper, middle and lower office. The Oberamt included the farming communities Bövinghausen , Dellwig , Düren , Gerthe , Harpen , Kirchlinde , Kley , Langendreer , Lütgendortmund , Marten , Oespel , Rahm , Somborn , Stockum , Werne and Westrich . To Mittelamt: Altenbochum , Baukau , Bickern , Crange , Eickel , Gold- and Hundhamme , Grumme , Herne , Hiltrop , Hofstede , Marmelshagen , Holsterhausen , Hordel , Laer , Querenburg , Riemke , Uemmingen , Weitmar and Wiemelhausen . The Niederamt included: Aschenbruch , Braubauerschaft , Bulmke , Eiberg , Eppendorf , Freisenbruch , Gelsenkirchen , Günnigfeld , Heßler , Höntrop , Hüllen , the Kötter vor Steele (later Königssteele ), Leithe , Schalke , Stalleiken , Ueckendorf and Westenfeld .

When the newly created administrative district of Arnsberg in the Prussian province of Westphalia was divided into districts, the Bochum district was created on January 1, 1817 .

1844 to 1929

In 1844 the mayor's offices were transferred. Here, a Bochum office was created again. In 1855 the Bochum office consisted of: Altenbochum , Bergen , Gerthe , Grumme , Hamme , Harpen , Hofstede , Hordel , Laer , Querenburg , Riemke , Weitmar and Wiemelhausen . The district was dissolved in 1929.
