Anacleto Jiménez

Anacleto Jiménez ( Anacleto Jiménez Pastor ; born February 24, 1967 in Logroño ) is a former Spanish long-distance runner .

Life

In 1987 he won gold over 5000 m at the Universiade . At the European Athletics Indoor Championships he was eighth over 3000 m in Budapest in 1988 and seventh in Seville in 1992 .

In 1994 he was fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Paris over 3000 m and eighth at the European Championships in Helsinki over 5000 m. In 1995 he won silver over 3000 m at the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona and came 13th over 5000 m at the World Championships in Gothenburg . The following year he won over 3000 m gold at the European Indoor Championships in Stockholm and reached the semi-finals over 5000 m at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . At the World Championships in Athens , he was eliminated in advance.

At the World Cross Country Championships he finished 30th in Marrakech in 1998 and 68th in Oostende in 2001 .

He was twice Spanish champion over 5000 m (1994, 1996). Between 1994 and 1996 he won the 3000 m title three times in a row indoors.
