Lubomír Tesáček

Lubomír Tesáček (born February 9, 1957 in Slavkov u Brna , † June 29, 2011 in Prague ) was a Czech long-distance runner .

Life

Starting for Czechoslovakia , he finished seventh at the European Athletics Indoor Championships over 3000 m in 1981 in Grenoble , fourth in 1983 in Budapest and won gold in 1984 in Gothenburg . In 1986 he was eighth over 3000 m at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid . At the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart , he was eliminated over 5000 m in the preliminary run and came in 16th place over 10,000 m . In 1989 he was seventh in the Munich Marathon and second in the Paderborn Easter run over 25 km, and in 1990 sixth in the Vienna Spring Marathon . In 1995 he won the Kerzerslauf . At the World Cross Country Championships in Paris in 1980 , he came in 77th place and in Aix-les-Bains in 1990 in 161st place. He was Czechoslovakian champion three times in the 5000 m (1980, 1983, 1986) and once in the 25 km road race (1990 ). In the hall he won the national championship title over 1500 m twice (1983, 1984) and five times over 3000 m (1979, 1981, 1984, 1986, 1987).

He died in 2011 at the age of 54 after being run over by a tram .
