Andreas Molbech Lund

Andreas Molbech Lund (* 1749 in Vang (baptized February 14), † November 27, 1820 in Skanderborg , Denmark ) was a Norwegian civil servant and Greenland inspector.

Life

Andreas Molbech Lund received a bachelor's degree in 1770 . He was then employed by various administrative offices in Norway and Denmark. In 1779 he graduated from the University of Copenhagen as a lawyer and was appointed deputy correspondent at Den Kongelige Grønlandske Handel , and in 1786 he was appointed first correspondent. In 1789 Bendt Olrik left the office of inspector in South Greenland and Lund took his place. Olrik had inadequately managed the colony and Lund was faced with major problems, which he was able to overcome. In 1795 he asked for his resignation, which was followed by a three-year forced break. From 1798 he was the administrator in Åkær and Skanderborg, where he died in 1820 in a highly respected manner .

family

Andreas Molbech Lund was the son of the procurator Gregers Lund (1719–1780) and Anna Margrethe Molbech (1722–1795). In 1789 he married Sophia Amalia Westphal (1764-1818) in Copenhagen . The couple had two daughters, one of whom died in childhood.
