Oscar Peter Cornelius Kock (also Koch ; born October 23, 1860 in Krungerup , Radsted Sogn , † May 17, 1937 in Kongens Lyngby ) was a Danish merchant and inspector of Greenland .

Life

Kock worked as a merchant in the Faroese capital Tórshavn when he was young . From 1884 he worked in Qaqortoq , Ivittuut and Paamiut before he was permanently employed as an assistant in Paamiut in 1887. In 1891 he moved to Maniitsoq , in 1894 to Sisimiut and then in 1895 was promoted to colonial administrator in Paamiut. In 1900 he moved back to Maniitsoq and in 1901 to Nuuk . In 1902, after the death of Regnar Stephensen , he took over the office of inspector in South Greenland until he was dissolved by Ole Bendixen the following year . He then worked in Aasiaat until 1907 , before he worked again in Qaqortoq until 1909, after which he retired.

Oscar Peter Cornelius Kock was the son of Richard Moritz Alfred Kock and his wife Eleonore Juliane Storck. He himself married the Faroese Guðrun Hválborg Paulina Pálsson (born September 24, 1865 in Tvøroyri , † June 19, 1887 in Paamiut), daughter of Anthonius Venceslaus Pálsson and Hansine Pauline Gregersen in Paamiut on August 1, 1886 . She died in child bed less than a month after the birth of her daughter:
