Christian Simony

Christian Simony (born August 16, 1881 in Bredholt , Sahl Sogn , Holstebro commune ; † May 14, 1961 in Holte , Ny Holte Sogn , Rudersdal commune ) was a Danish inspector of Greenland .

Life

Simony was trained in trade in Stubbekøbing . In 1904 he began to work in Sisimiut voluntarily . In 1906 he moved to Maniitsoq . From 1911 he was successively assistant in Qaqortoq , Nanortalik and Nuuk . From 1916 to 1917 he worked as a colonial administrator in Paamiut . He was then from 1918 to 1921 authorized representative in the administration in Copenhagen . He was also the commission secretary from 1920 to 1921. In 1924 he was the penultimate inspector of South Greenland for a short time . In 1933 he finished his service in Greenland as colonial administrator in Nuuk. He later worked at Grønlands Styrelse in Copenhagen. He was a knight of the Dannebrog Order .

family

Christian Simony was the son of the proprietor Julius Simony and his wife Laura Vilhelmine Jespersen. His grandfather was the politician Carl Frederik Simony (1806–1872). He married the twenty-year-old Carla Østerberg Bistrup in Maniitsoq on June 24, 1908, who came from a family that had been administrative in Greenland for a long time. Her grandfather was Henning Bistrup, her father Laurits Hans Christian Bistrup (1850-1914), her brother Aage Carlhegger Erik Østerberg Bistrup and her brother-in-law Christian Sigvald Jensen Langskov. From the marriage, among others, the son Carl Frederik Bistrup Simony (1909-1983) emerged, who was later Landsfoged of Greenland.
