Edgar Christian Fencker

Edgar Christian Fencker (born January 7, 1844 in Sankt Hans Sogn , Odense , † December 15, 1904 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish inspector of Greenland .

Life

1864 Fencker the military to the Danish equivalent of an upper ensign of the reserve . In 1868 he worked as a volunteer in Upernavik . The next year he moved to Appat , another year later to Uummannaq and in 1872 to Ilulissat . In 1875 he became an administrator in Qeqertarsuaq and in the same year in Qasigiannguit . In 1878 he became colonial administrator in Qeqertarsuaq, in 1880 in Qasigiannguit, in 1884 in Upernavik and in 1890 in Appat. In 1892 he was appointed inspector of South Greenland and in 1899 he was replaced by his son-in-law Regnar Stephensen .

Edgar Christian Fencker was the son of the ennobled officer August Carl Frederik von Fencker and his wife Mette Cathrine Dreier. He married on August 6, 1876 in Qeqertarsuaq Hansine Lundsteen, who was born on October 5, 1843 in Vorgod Sogn as the daughter of Petrus Lundsteen and Christiane Marie Elisabeth Hansen. His sister-in-law Johanne Margrethe Lundsteen was married to the former inspector of North Greenland , Sophus Theodor Krarup-Smith . Fencker and his wife had the following children:
