Niels Alfred Andersen

Niels Alfred Andersen (born February 22, 1843 in Roskilde ; † January 13, 1900 in Sorø ) was a Danish teacher , businessman , civil servant and inspector of Greenland .

Life

Niels Alfred Andersen studied at Roskilde University from 1863 and was then a teacher. From 1870 he worked as an assistant in a storage office, from 1873 as an accountant. In 1882 he moved to Aasiaat and worked there as a colonial administrator. In 1883 he was appointed inspector for North Greenland and worked as such until 1898. In 1895 he was awarded the Dannebrogden . In 1899 he was a councilor before he died at the beginning of the following year at the age of 56.

Niels Alfred's parents were the businessman Anders Christian Andersen and Dorthea Marie Bruun. He married Martha Elisabeth Ingeborg Carlsen (1854–1911) in 1875. The son Just Andersen (1884–1943), who became a famous artist, and u. a. also the sons Carl (1878–?) and Einar (1880–?).
