Nicolai room
Nicolai Zimmer (born January 25, 1810 in Veggerby , † May 31, 1894 in Frederiksberg ) was a Danish merchant and inspector of Greenland .
Nicolai Zimmer began studying law in Aalborg in 1829 , which he completed in 1834. In 1837 he became head of the institute in Copenhagen . From 1842 he worked as an assistant and businessman in Ilulissat , Qeqertarsuaq and Aasiaat , before he was appointed inspector of North Greenland in 1845 and worked as such until 1846.
He was the son of the priest Conrad Zimmer (1769-1827) and Elisabeth Marie Nielsen (1774-1852). His mother was the daughter of Frederikke Henriette Wagrien, illegitimate daughter of Duke Friedrich Karl of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön with his mistress Sophie Agnes Olearius. Nicolai was married to the half-Greenland woman Karen Margrethe Maria Geisler (1824-1901), who came from what is now Qasigiannguit . The couple had no children.
