Herjulf Carl Georg Jørgensen (born September 10, 1856 in Nuuk , † June 7, 1911 in Randers ) was a Danish merchant and inspector of Greenland .

Life

Herjulf Carl Georg Jørgensen was the son of the missionary and seminary teacher Haldor Ferdinand Jørgensen (1831-1904) and his wife Ida Emilie Augusta Preisler (1837-1906). His grandfather was the politician Otto Jørgensen (1808-1858). Herjulf Carl Georg Jørgensen married Mine Pouline Andrea Bach (1859–?) In 1884.

Herjulf Carl Georg Jørgensen was a volunteer in Upernavik from 1884 to 1886 before he was employed there as a commercial assistant. In the same year he became colonial administrator in Qeqertarsuaq , which he remained until 1893. In 1894 he was appointed colonial administrator in his hometown. From 1897 to 1898 he was interim inspector for South Greenland . From 1899 to 1901 he was colonial administrator in Sisimiut and from 1902 to 1907 in Qaqortoq . After three years of vacation, he retired in 1911 and died that same year at the age of 54.
