Anders Peter Olsen (also Andreas Peter Olsen ; born March 22, 1862 in Musse Sogn ; † 1932 ) was a Danish inspector of Greenland .

Life

Anders Peter Olsen began a military career and became a sub-lieutenant . From 1886 to 1891 he worked as a volunteer in Qeqertarsuaq and Upernavik before he was hired as an assistant in Kangersuatsiaq in 1891 . The following year he was appointed administrator in Upernavik and in 1897 transferred to Ilulissat before he was again an assistant in Aasiaat . From 1899 he worked as an administrator in Qeqertarsuaq, Appat and from 1902 in Ilulissat. From 1905 to 1906 he was also head of the Greenland office in Copenhagen . In 1912 he was appointed inspector of North Greenland and succeeded in the following year by Harald Lindow , which was his last position.

The A. P. Olsen Land in eastern Greenland is named after Anders Peter Olsen . It describes the area that lies between the Tyrolerfjord in the south and the Svejstrupdal in the north and that extends from the east coast to the Grossglockner in the west.

His parents were Ole Andersen and Maren Johanne Larsen. He married Olivia Nielsen (1862–?) In Upernavik Ludovika in 1888. His children were:

  • Olaf Theodor Andreas Johannes Olsen (born April 14, 1889 in Upernavik)
  • Axel Lars Christian Olsen (born September 29, 1893 in Upernavik)
