Andy Koyama

Andy Koyama (born April 18, 1962 in Toronto ) is a Canadian sound engineer .

life and career

Koyama grew up in Toronto and studied at the University of Toronto with a focus on technical physics.

After completing his studies, he worked as a musician and sound engineer before he was employed for 12 years at the Deluxe Recording Studio in Toronto, where he mixed the sound for film and television productions, among other things. In 2000 he moved to Los Angeles , where he worked at Universal Studios , Sony Pictures Entertainment and Todd-AO before joining the Formosa Group.

At the Oscar ceremony in 2014 Koyama and his colleagues were David Brownlow and Beau Borders for their work on Lone Survivor in the category Best Sound nominated.
