Arsita is a municipality with 798 inhabitants and is located near Bisenti and Castiglione Messer Raimondo in the Italian province of Teramo . Part of the territory of the municipality lies within the borders of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park . The village is a member of the Comunità Montana del Vomano, Fino e Piomba .

The districts (fractions) include Cacciafumo, Collemesolo, Figliolarsita, Pantane and Valleiannina.

The neighboring municipalities are: Bisenti , Castel del Monte , Castelli , Farindola and Penne .

The municipality is located around 30 kilometers from the capital of the province, the city of Teramo, and 44 kilometers from the Adriatic coast.

history

The origins of the municipality go back to pre-Roman times, as the archaeological finds in 1985 prove. Graves and jewelry from the Bronze Age were found. The settlement was first mentioned in writing in the 13th century. The church of Santa Maria D'Aragona was built in the 16th century, and inside the building there is a representation of a Madonna with a child. The ceramics were restored at the beginning of the 20th century.
