The BMW N74 is one with a double turbocharger supercharged V12 engine of the automobile manufacturer BMW .

The cylinder bank angle is 60 °. The closed deck engine block , oil pan and piston are made of aluminum.

The N74 has direct gasoline injection , two turbochargers (Garett GT2260S), which were specially developed for this engine and are attached below the cylinder banks on the outside of the engine, four-valve technology and variable valve timing with the brand name Valvetronic . The injection nozzles are single-hole swirl nozzles, the injection pressure is up to 12  MPa . The unit operates with a conventional three-way catalyst and for the operation of lower grade sulfur-containing gasoline suitable.

The first version N74B60 complied with the EU 5 emissions standard, from 2013 also the EU6 , the N74B66TÜ complied with the EU6 emissions standard .

The oil is supplied by a volume flow-controlled 6-chamber pendulum slide pump.
