The Federazija badmintona SSSR ( Russian Федерация бадминтона СССР ) was the highest national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in the USSR . The association was founded in 1961 .

history

Badminton has been played in the USSR since the 1950s. The association soon became a member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation . In 1974 the Soviet association also became a member of the continental umbrella organization Badminton Europe , at that time still operating under the European Badminton Union . With the end of the Soviet Union in 1990, the end of the association was sealed and the organization was transferred to the CIS association in 1991, which existed until 1992 and was replaced by the National Badminton Federation of Russia .
