Basalija ( Ukrainian Базалія ; Russian Базалия , Polish Bazalia ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Oblast of Khmelnytskyi with about 1500 inhabitants (2019).

Basalija is located on the upper reaches of the Slutsch in the south of the Teofipol district on the regional road P-48 . The settlement is located 18 km south of the Teofipol district center and 63 km northwest of the Oblast capital Khmelnytskyi .

The village, first mentioned in 1574, is named after its founder Konstantin Basilius von Ostrog and received city rights on March 25, 1577. Between 1923 and 1931 and between 1935 and 1959, the village was the administrative center of Basalija Rajon. Since 1957 the village has had the status of an urban-type settlement.
