Brett Kulak (born January 6, 1994 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey League since October 2018 and at the same time for their farm team, the Rocket de Laval , in American Hockey League is used.
Career
Kulak first played in lower class junior teams in the province of Alberta before making his debut for the Vancouver Giants from the Western Hockey League during the 2010/11 season . With the beginning of the 2011/12 season he was an integral part of the squad there. At the end of the season, the defender was selected in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in 105th place by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League . The Canadian stayed two more years with the Giants in the WHL. However, he had already gained his first professional experience at the end of the 2012/13 season when he entered the American Hockey League on a trial contract for Calgary's farm team , the Abbotsford Heat .
After finishing his junior career, Kulak, who had signed an entry-level contract in Calgary in March 2014 , again spent the end of the 2013/14 season in Abbotsford. The following game year spent the defender after the resettlement of the team from Abbotsford with the Adirondack Flames in the AHL and the Colorado Eagles in the ECHL . He also made his NHL debut in the 2014-15 season when he played his first game for Calgary in April 2015. In addition, there were eight more missions in the 2015/16 season . But he still spent most of the season on the farm team, which, after moving again, now took part in the game as Stockton Heat . The Canadian began the 2016/17 season with the Flames in the NHL and was used regularly until the end of November 2016. Subsequently, his stakes decreased and after the management of the Flames had improved personnel in the defensive positions, Kulak was ordered again to Stockton in the AHL in February 2017.
Kulak spent the 2017/18 season for the first time in the NHL with the Flames. In October 2018, however, he was handed over to the Canadiens de Montréal , while Matt Taormina and Rinat Valiyev moved to Calgary in return .
