history
With the district reform of 2008, the constituencies in Saxony were fundamentally redesigned. The area of the former Middle Erzgebirgskreis belonged to the former Bundestag constituency Freiberg - Mittlerer Erzgebirgskreis until the federal election in 2009 . The former Bundestag constituency Annaberg - Aue-Schwarzenberg was completely absorbed into the new constituency Erzgebirgskreis I. For the 2013 federal election, the constituency number was changed from 165 to 164.
