history
In 1132, "Gernot and Rudolf von Buttendorf" were mentioned among the witnesses in the Heilsbronn monastery foundation letter. This is also the first written mention of the place. The lords of Buttendorf belonged to the von Leonrod family . Two thirds of the big tithe in Buttendorf were at that time an imperial fiefdom of the von Buttendorf / Leonrod, while one third went to the Bamberg Monastery. The defining word of the place name is the personal name Buoto.
At the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties in Buttendorf. The high court and the village and community rulership exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach judge office Roßtal . The landlords were the Cadolzburg caste office (two courtyards, two half- courtyards, eight estates, two houses, community pastor's house), the state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (one courtyard, one estate) and the Nuremberg owner von Grundherr (one estate). In 1799 there were 16 properties in the village, 13 of which were Ansbach and three were Nuremberg.
As part of the municipal edict, Buttendorf was assigned to the Weinzierlein tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weinzierlein , which was founded in the same year . 1 property was subject to voluntary jurisdiction from 1822 to 1835 by the Boxdorf Patrimonial Court .
As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Buttendorf was incorporated into Roßtal on May 1, 1978.
