Today the Rothenburger Straße begins at the Plärrer and leads past the Plärrerhochhaus , the Nicolaus-Copernicus-Planetarium and the former public bath through Gostenhof before it turns to the southwest after the Rochusfriedhof at the intersection with Au- and Oberen Kanalstraße. After the transfer of the Nuremberg – Bamberg railway (former Ludwig-Süd-Nord-Bahn ), on which the railway stop of the same name is located, the Frankenschnellweg crosses , at the place of which the Ludwig-Danube- Main Canal with the port was located east of today's junction. Since the opening of the Rothenburger Straße underground station in 1984, the point has been a traffic junction between the U-Bahn and R-Bahn , the city bus junction was closed on June 15, 2008 and relocated to Gustav-Adolf-Straße underground station . The road now runs along the western edge of the old slaughterhouse, bends west at the old town center of Sündersbühl and, after Wallensteinstraße branches off west of the Sündersbühl underground station in the direction of Großreuth near Schweinau , it reaches the intersection with Von-der-Tann-Straße (Westring / B 4 R ).

Crossing "Fürth Süd"

From here Rothenburger Strasse is dedicated as State Road 2245 and leads past the "Village", the former US hospital site, then crosses the Ringbahn and reaches Kleinreuth near Schweinau . After the confluence with Sigmundstrasse, Rothenburger Strasse runs on a dam and crosses the Südwesttangente and Main-Danube Canal at the junction Nürnberg-Kleinreuth , which run bundled here , and reaches the junction popularly known after the Fürth Süd stop of the Bibertbahn Fürth Süd with Schwabacher Strasse in the north of Gebersdorf . After crossing under the Bibertbahntrasse, Rothenburger Strasse leaves the Nuremberg city area when crossing the Rednitz on the Fernabrücke.

Through the Rangau

South of Rothenburger Strasse is the Hainberg nature reserve , the largest nature reserve in Northern Bavaria . Until the early 1990s, the Hainberg was still used as a training area for the US Army . The nature reserve is part of the Franconian sand axis .

Rothenburger Straße reaches Altenberg and after the intersection with Albrecht-Dürer-Straße, near the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Gymnasium, the Zirndorf city area. On the south side, next to the Zirndorf police station, were the Adams Barracks . After the Second World War , the former barracks of the National Socialist Ordnungspolizei was initially used by the US Army and later as a camp for refugees. The former headquarters of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees , which at the time was still called the Federal Office for the Recognition of Foreign Refugees , had its headquarters here from 1961 to 1996.

Since February 24, 1995, snippets of documents destroyed by employees of the Ministry of State Security have been hand-assembled in the building complex . The Central Reception Facility (ZAE) for asylum seekers in Bavaria is still behind this building . After the end of the industrial area on the south side of the street, the tracks of the Bibertbahn and for the first time the Bibert can be seen. From the north comes Westspange called bypass, in corpse village located on the south side of the Headquarters of Playmobil in Brandstätterstraße, behind the Playmobil Fun Park . The core town is on the north side. Beyond the industrial area, the village of Lind can be seen in the south . On the north side of the street is at the Bibert Leichendorfermühle with a campsite .

Weinzierlein stop in July 1986, followed by Rothenburger Strasse in Wintersdorf

Rothenburger Strasse crossed the Bibertbahn at both entrances until 1986, and the Weinzierlein train stop was at the western entrance to the town. Until the completion of the bypass road in 1998, traffic on Rothenburger Strasse ran directly through Wintersdorf . Weinzierlein touches Rothenburger Strasse in the north. Here the Rothenburger Straße meets the State Road 2409 , which serves as an important connection between the Federal Road 14 near Roßtal and Federal Road 8 near Seukendorf . Between Weinzierlein and Ammerndorf , this street uses Rothenburger Straße. After the confluence with Weinzierlein, Rothenburger Strasse crosses the Bibert. Then state road 2245 follows a slightly winding course to Ammerndorf. Up to 2010, the 2245 ran directly through Ammerndorf and only forked back into the center of the village into the 2409 state road in the direction of Cadolzburg and the continuation of the 2245 state road. Between 2010 and 2012, a bypass of the 2245 state road was built south of Ammerndorf. The construction cost of 6.7 million euros for approx. 3 km is due to the complex measures to adapt the beaver run as well as the construction of water compensation measures and bridge structures on loamy subsoil. Since mid-2012, traffic on the St 2245 has now passed Ammerndorf completely south. St 2049, which runs parallel from Wintersdorf to Ammerndorf, now forks at the entrance to Ammerndorf Ost, where state road 2409 leads through the village and then towards Cadolzburg to federal road 8. West of Ammerndorf, due to the former level crossing of the Bibertbahn, there was a sharp combination of curves of the former level crossing, which was a hotspot for accidents. This was easier to route as part of the bypass and led back to the old route before Vincenzenbronn . The Bubenmühle district of Ammerndorfer is just before the entrance to Vincenzenbronn . A bypass is also being planned for Vincenzenbronn in the coming years. In Großhabersdorf , the state road 2246 branches off to Ansbach. Before building the bypass road, she did this at the foot of the Kirchberg at the Rotes Ross inn. The Rothenburger Straße leads past the tribal mill to Unterschlauersbach .

About the franc height

The first place in the district of Ansbach is the Dietenhofen district of Seubersdorf . From here on, the road is also referred to as Hochstraße because of the guidance on a ridge of the Frankenhöhe . Passing the districts of Oberschlauersbach , Neudietenholz and Walburgswinden , Rothenburger Straße reaches Neudorf . After about 3.5 kilometers, the state road 2255 crosses north of Andorf , a connection between federal road 13 in Ansbach and federal road 470 in Neustadt an der Aisch . Shortly thereafter, the road is around 1.2 kilometers in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim , south of the road is the town of Rothenhof, part of the municipality of Neuhof an der Zenn . After about one kilometer a road follows in a southerly direction to Rügländer district Unternbibert few meters further north of the road of the district Dauber Bach , another 1.6 kilometers a road branches to Fladengreuth to the south. After 1.4 kilometers there is a northerly junction to the Obernzenner district of Wimmelbach . On the following four kilometers, south-east of Rothenburger Strasse, you will find the Flachslanden districts of Hainklingen and Schmalnbühl , north-west of Sondernohe . The source of the Bibert is located near Schmalnbühl . To the north of the intersection with the district road AN 21 are the districts of Boxau and Virnsberg , south of Neustetten . After 1.5 kilometers from the south comes the state road 2253 from Flachslanden, which joins the B 13 at Lehrberg and a few meters the district of Wippenau . The St 2253 branches off to the north after 2.5 kilometers, via the Obernzenner district Egenhausen the state road leads to Markt Bibart to federal road 8 . After 1.2 kilometers the road leads through the Obernzenner Weiler Straßenhof . Shortly afterwards, on a pass between Lerchenberg and Illesheimer Kopf, the Hohe Steig and at the same time the European main watershed are overcome. On the west side, the slope descends on a slope that is unique for the route, on the way to Oberdachstetten the route overcomes 50 vertical meters at 750 meters. To the southeast of the Oberdachstetten train station, Rothenburger Strasse crosses the Treuchtlingen – Würzburg railway line . The route now goes over the Franconian Rezat and through the town center to the junction of the federal highway 13. After 1.5 kilometers you reach the Oberdachstettener district of Anfelden .
