In addition to the three best of the two seasons, the seventh team qualified for the winner of a double round (return leg) on July 14, 1957 of the two fourth-placed teams for the final round.

On the Leipzig Südkampfbahn and the adjoining turbine courts, the league's decisions about promotion to the upper league and relegation were made. The winners of the league relays (and Lok Güstrow) took part.
