The GDR field fistball championships in 1986/87 were the 38th edition of the field fistball championships in the GDR in the 1986/87 season since 1949 .
The season began on September 13, 1986.
The two final tournaments of the four top division first place women and men took place in the Jena Oberaue .
Promotion / relegation : While Traktor Seebergen had to relegate to the league, Rotation Berlin was able to assert itself in the qualifying games against the competition of the league season winners.

Promotion / relegation : The teams in the last three places relegated to the GDR league. The relegation of one of the teams from Lok "Erich Steinfurth" Berlin was certain, since according to the decision of the presidium of the DFV of the GDR on November 28, 2018, from the season 1987/88 onwards, no third teams of a section were allowed to play in the league. From the following season 1988/89 only one team per section was allowed to participate in the league. The winners of the three league seasons were promoted: Empor Barby (Season I), Aufbau St. Egidien (Season II) and the SG Bademeusel (Season III).
