The East German championships in field Fistball 1962 was the 13th staging of the East German championships of men and women in the field Fistball the GDR in the year 1962nd

The last matchday took place on August 18 and 19, 1962 in stadiums “8. May ”and“ Max Reimann ”in Cottbus .

Teams of the women's league, sorted by color according to groups

The women's league was played in two seasons, which competed against each other on game days 1 and 3 and against each other on game days 2 and 4. Lok Köthen, unit Rostock, Lok Schwerin, Motor Rathenow and activist Staßfurt as promoted players played in season I, Rotation Dresden Mitte, Medizin Weimar, SG Eutritzsch, ISG Hirschfelde and promoted Motor West Suhl in season II.

The game days were played on the following dates:

• 1st matchday: May 20, 1962: Season I in Rostock, Season II in Dresden
• 2nd matchday: June 17, 1962: both seasons in Leipzig
• 3rd matchday: July 8, 1962: Season I in Koethen, Season II in Oberfrohna
• 4th matchday: August 18 and 19, 1962: both seasons in Cottbus

Promotion games : Since activist Staßfurt could not take part on the 2nd matchday due to force majeure and their games were canceled, no team was relegated this year. In the coming season therefore played 12 teams in the women's league, four of which will be relegated. On August 25th and 26th, 1962 in Magdeburg, the games for promotion to the major league in 1963 were played.
