GDR field fistball championships 1959

The East German championships in field Fistball 1959 was the tenth staging of the East German championships of men and women in the field Fistball the GDR in the year 1959th

The finals took place on September 5 and 6, 1959 at the St. Hubertus sports complex in Köthen -Geuz.

The three Hirschfeld sports communities Aktivist, Turbine and Progress joined forces to form the Hirschfelde industrial sports community. The fistball section therefore started this season as "ISG Hirschfelde".

Locations of the teams in the women's league

The women's league was played in two seasons. Compared to the previous season , the squadrons have been redesigned.

Planned match days were May 31 in Leipzig ( Season I ) and Dresden ( Season II ), June 21 in Rathenow ( Season I , postponed to August 22/23, 1959) and Görlitz ( Season II ) and the 2nd August in Magdeburg ( Season I ) and Dresden ( Season II ). The games of the middle places were scheduled for August 30, 1959.

In addition to the three best of the two seasons, the winner of a comparison of the two fourth-placed teams qualified as the seventh team for the final round.

Promotion and relegation : The promotion and relegation games took place on August 30, 1959 in Leipzig on the square of Einheit Ost.

The last two teams of each season played together in a relegation round for the two relegated teams. Lok Görlitz and Motor Rathenow prevailed over ISG Hirschfelde and Stahl Megu Leipzig.

The league was played in two seasons. Compared to the previous season , the squadrons have been redesigned. Match days were May 31 in Dresden ( season I ) and Leipzig ( season II , the latter was canceled), June 21 in Rochlitz ( season I ) and Erfurt ( season II ) and August 2 in Hirschfelde ( season I ) and Schwerin ( Season II ). The games of the middle places (4th / 5th of both seasons) were scheduled for August 30, 1959, in which another team could qualify for the final round.

³ Because of the equality of points, a deciding game between Locomotive Wittstock and Science Hall II was necessary for places 2 and 3, which the railway workers won with 32:25.

^4thLok Güstrow took part in the season runner-up instead of the season winner Lok Schwerin II, as they opposed the decision to move the schedule forward from 27.9. on 8/30 turned.
