GDR field fistball championships 1965

The GDR field fistball championships in 1965 were the 16th edition of the fistball championships on the field in the GDR . The two final tournaments of the four first-placed women and men in the Oberliga took place on September 18 and 19, 1965 in Jüterbog .

The newly introduced mode provided that in a final round, the final tournament, the first four teams in the overall table would cross against each other. The first placed against the fourth and the second against the third. The winners played for the championship title, the losers for bronze.

The women's league was held in three seasons. Unit Rostock, Lok Schwerin and Motor Rathenow played in season I, Lokschleife, Energie Görlitz and ISG Hirschfelde played in season II and SG Eutritzsch, SG Heidenau and Rotation Dresden-Mitte played in season III.

The league teams played in two seasons. In season I, ISG Hirschfelde, Motor Dresden Ost, Rotation Dresden Mitte, progress Zittau, Energie Görlitz and progress Glauchau played. Promotion / relegation : The last two teams were relegated directly to the GDR league. The teams in places 9 and 10 of the upper league and the two best teams of each of the four league seasons took part in the promotion games to the upper league on September 11, 1965 in Halle and on September 12, 1965 in Dresden and on September 25 and 26 Participated in Magdeburg in 1965 . Everyone had to play against everyone else. The ISG Hirschfelde II team waived, but Lokomotive Dresden took part. The top division team Energie Görlitz and progress Eppendorf qualified.
