GDR championships in indoor fistball 1959/60
The GDR indoor fistball championships in 1959/60 were the eighth edition of the GDR championships for men and women in indoor fistball in the GDR in the 1959/60 season. The men's championship finals took place on 5./6. March 1960 in Magdeburg , the women's championships on 12./13. March 1960 in the Senftenberg activist sports hall.

The teams were divided into three squadrons. Lok Görlitz (previously season 1) and Lok Köthen (previously season 2) swapped the squadrons, as did Motor Rathenow (previously season 2) swapped the squadron with SG Leipzig-Eutritzsch (season 3), the latter being the starting place for Stahl Megu Leipzig took over, as the team moved from Stahl to SG Eutritzsch. In addition, the three relegated teams were replaced by promoted players from the league.
The two best of each season qualified for the championship games.
The game days were scheduled as follows:

- Season I: 5./6. December 1959 in Großenhain
- Season II: February 7, 1960 in Staßfurt
- Season III: November 29, 1959 in Erfurt
2nd matchday
- Season I: January 24, 1960 in Großenhain
- Season II: February 21, 1960 in Staßfurt
- Season III: February 20, 1960 in Erfurt, Thuringia Hall

Promotion / Relegation : The last of each season was relegated to the league. In the promotion games of Group West, Chemie Jena prevailed, Motor Dresden Ost from Group South. Rotation Berlin also rose to the top division for the next season .

The teams were divided into three squadrons, which, with the exception of the promoted and relegated teams, retained the pre-season division .
The two best of each season qualified for the championship games.
The game days were scheduled as follows:
1st matchday
- Season I: 5./6. December 1959 in Großenhain
- Season II: December 13, 1959 in Leipzig (or November 28, 1959 in Leipzig)
- Season III: November 29, 1959 in Erfurt
2nd matchday
- Season I: January 24, 1960 in Dresden
- Season II: January 2, 1960, Guestrow
- Season III: January 10, 1960 in Staßfurt
The composition of season 1 remained the same, only relegated activist Freienhufen was replaced by ISG Hirschfelde II as a promoted member. In season 2, the newcomer Lok Schwerin replaced the relegated Lok Bitterfeld. In season 3, the relegated Motor Erfurt West II was replaced by the ascending tractor Schleusingen.
The teams from Stahl Megu Leipzig (section dissolved) and Motor Zwickau Süd left the league. They were replaced by activist Staßfurt and the second team from Empor Rudolstadt. This required shifts between seasons 2 and 3.

Promotion / Relegation : The last of each season was relegated to the league. In the promotion games in the group West unit hall prevailed. Activist Freienhufen was able to achieve immediate resurgence from the southern districts.
