GDR field fistball championships in 1976

The GDR field fistball championships in 1976 were the 27th edition of the field fistball championships in the GDR in 1976.

The final tournaments were played by the four best teams in the women's and men's competition on September 18 in Tangermünde .

Promotion round: The teams of TSG Berlin-Oberschöneweide and Motor Rathenow did not have to relegate directly after a new mode, but instead had to play in a qualifying round for places in the upcoming league season. It was played in two seasons, the two best-placed teams in cross comparisons determined the two promoted or non-relegated. In these promotion games, which were played in the Leipzig “Stadium of Peace”, TSG Berlin-Oberschöneweide and Aufbau Dissenchen qualified.

Relegated to the league were Medicine Erfurt, who could only exist in the league for one season,
and Unit Jüterbog, who withdrew before the first day of play. In the promotion tournament in Heidenau, the second of ISG Hirschfelde and Motor Zwickau-Süd prevailed. The first two of each of the three seasons were normally qualified. However, the event was marked by several cancellations by eligible teams, so that with Motor Zella-Mehlis even a fourth-placed team was invited.
