The GDR field fistball championships in 1985/86 were the 37th edition of the field fistball championships in the GDR in the 1985/86 season since 1949 .
The two final tournaments of the four top division first place women and men took place on July 5, 1986 in Hirschfelde .
Promotion / relegation : TSG Berlin-Oberschöneweide met the league relay winners in a qualifying tournament for the GDR Oberliga in 1987 . Lok Loop decided not to participate and accepted the descent. In the qualification, last year's relegated Rotation Berlin prevailed ahead of TSG Berlin-Oberschöneweide.

Teams of the men's league
As early as autumn 1984 the office of the presidium of the DFV of the GDR decided to increase the men's upper league from 1986 to twelve teams. The point games should already start in autumn of the previous year, the championship finals should take place at the beginning of summer. Therefore, in 1985 only two teams were relegated from the league. This should also give each team a home game day.
1 The Görlitz syndicate, which was already last placed at the time (one point from 14 games), canceled its participation in the fifth of six match days in Halle due to injuries and was then disqualified.
Relegation : The teams in the last three places relegated to the GDR league.
Promotion : With the winner of the season I locomotive "Erich Steinfurth" Berlin III, a section with three teams made it to the top division of the GDR for the first time. In addition, progress Walddorf managed to rise and the Heidenau game community to rise again immediately.
