Deborah Adair (sound engineer)

Deborah "Deb" Adair (born April 22, 1966 in Manchester , Connecticut ) also Deborah Adaire , Debbie Adair and Debby Adair , is an American sound engineer who has been involved in more than 120 film and television productions since the beginning of her career in the mid-1980s . At the 2012 Academy Awards she was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Sound category for her work on The Art of Winning - Moneyball, along with Ron Bochar , David Giammarco and Ed Novick . She has won three Daytime Emmy Awards and has been nominated for eight more. It also won the Motion Picture Sound Editors' Golden Reel Award twice and was nominated for another. Adair studied film production at Syracuse University , then worked in the music industry in Nashville and finally entered the film industry in Los Angeles . She currently works for Sony Pictures . In addition to her work as a sound engineer, Adair also took on a speaking role at South Park: The Film - Bigger, Longer, Unedited .
