The series was initially broadcast on free-to-air television by VIVA ; since the start of the Nicknight program block it has also been shown at Nickelodeon . The eighth and ninth seasons ran there between November 7, 2011 and May 7, 2012.
In June 2015, MTV Canada and TeenNick announced that the series would end with season 14. The series finale aired on July 31, 2015. A short time later it was announced that there will be a new offshoot in 2016 with Degrassi: The next class , which will be seen exclusively on Netflix.
