The Eichstätt deanery is a deanery of the Roman Catholic Church in the Eichstätt diocese . Around 59,000 Catholics live in the deanery on around 860 km². Territorially, the deanery includes the district of Eichstätt and the parts of the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen , which belong to the diocese of Eichstätt. It was founded on June 12, 2011 from the former dean's offices in Eichstätt, Gaimersheim and Beilngries. The first dean was Cathedral Chapter Franz Mattes. The current dean is Josef Funk. 60 parishes belong to the dean's office in Eichstätt. On Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, the deanery was organized into fourteen pastoral rooms.
