The Power of Evil (2017)
The Power of Evil , also distributed internationally as HHhH , is a feature film produced in 2017. The focus of the event is on the one hand the rapid rise of Reinhard Heydrich , as well as the planning and implementation of Operation Anthropoid , the assassination attempt on Heydrich planned by Czechoslovak resistance fighters.

Reinhard Heydrich, Lieutenant in the Navy, is released from the Navy. He was in a relationship with a woman and promised marriage to her before parting with her. Heydrich is desperate. But he did not count on the ambition of his future wife Lina, who sees the future of Germany in the aspiring National Socialist Workers' Party and its leader Adolf Hitler.
Lina introduces Heydrich to Heinrich Himmler. He recognized Heydrich's potential and appointed him head of the new security service of the Reichsführer SS . Heydrich, who had the enemies of the “movement”, including Ernst Röhm but also communists, mercilessly persecuted and killed, quickly made a career. A few years later the Second World War breaks out. Now, in Heydrich's diction, after Berlin and Vienna also Prague , where he has been transferred, “free of Jews”.
At the same time, the Czech Jan Kubiš and the Slovak Jozef Gabčík are training in Scotland for emergencies. A little later they land with parachutes in occupied Czechoslovakia and, with the support of the resistance movement, pursue their goal of killing Heydrich. You will stay with the Moravec and Novak families; Jan begins a brief love affair with Anna Novak.
In June 1942 Jan and Jozef were able to carry out the assassination attempt on Heydrich on a street in Prague. Heydrich dies a few days later from his injuries.
The regime's revenge comes a little later, when the village of Lidice is razed to the ground and the population is murdered or deported. Jan and Jozef are able to hide in the Church of St. Cyril and Method in Prague, but are betrayed by Karel Čurda. They bitterly offer one last armed resistance when the Germans storm the church. You can retreat to the catacombs of the church. However, when the Germans put them under water with a hose, they commit suicide shortly before they drowned.

The film was shot on a relatively inexpensive budget of $ 35 million in locations in Budapest and Prague . The shooting took place from September 2015 to February 2016. The script is based on the novel HHhH (Himmler's brain is called Heydrich) by the French writer Laurent Binet .
