The next bullet in the barrel is a solo album by the German rapper Sera Finale . It was released on September 21, 2007 on the Berlin independent label I Luv Money Records . The distribution was taken over by Soulfood .
background
Sera Finale released the solo album Serafiniert at the end of 2005 . After that, Sera Finale became a father and completed his education . On a musical level, he was first heard on the albums of befriended rappers, where he made guest contributions. He recorded songs with Ercandize , Mnemonic King Orgasmus One , Godsilla , MOK and Mike Crush. In October 2006 he also performed the song Berlin on the Berlin hip-hop sampler Rap City Berlin . This was later published on The Next Bullet in the Run . During this time he met the main producer of The Next Bullet in the Run , Djorkaeff . This enabled him to establish contacts with Godsilla and later King Orgasmus One, whereupon Sera Finale was able to place the song Never , which was also published on The Next Bullet in the Run , on King Orgasmus One's soundtrack for Orgi Pörnchen 4 in December 2006 . Later took orgasm Sera Finale on his label I Luv Money Records under contract .
Overall, The Next Ball was written, produced and recorded between the end of 2006 and June 2007.

In I celebrate myself Sera Finale raps everything he likes. For example, he names Queensbridge , Rapper Game , Berlin , Punchlines or French fries . He dedicates the sung chorus to himself. He raps that he ignores the opinion of critics and celebrates himself.
Everything so easy
The title Everything so easy deals with relaxed moments in life. Sera Finale tells of a perfect day when you can forget all worries and feel free.
The next bullet in the run
The title track The next bullet in the run is one of two songs that can be stylistically assigned to battle rap . The rapper uses numerous comparisons and puns (for example: stopping me is far fetched like stones from the moon or beef, beef like a pig transport ). He also raps that he doesn't need a gun , but kills with words . He describes himself as an angel of fire and a warrior of light .
Berlin
Berlin is a hymn to Sera Finale's hometown. In it he describes Berlin as the city in general and a paradise of contrasts . He calls u. a. Currywurst , doner kebab , beer , pennies , Hertha BSC or BVG are typical of Berlin. The so-called Berliner Schnauze is also mentioned. All in all, Berlin is the best place on the planet .
With her
In With her he tells a fictional story of a childhood sweetheart and the experiences with the girl who was not named. It was especially important for Sera Finale to deal with the subject of memories without simply listing events. In the Hook he describes his youth as the good old days .
Queen vom Kiez II
The song Queen vom Kiez II is a continuation of the first track Queen vom Kiez , which was published in 2005 on Serafiniert . In terms of content, it is a love song to his wife. He declares his love safe, independent of location and Cupid's masterpiece . He is looking forward to the moment when he will be a grandfather .

To you describes Sera Finale's relationship with rap. He describes the cycle as "from outside to the heart, from the heart to paper, from paper to the track and from the track to you". With rap he could change the world with an idea.
S must go on
In S must go on, Sera Finale raps that he always carries on and that he leaves everything behind.
Never
The title Never is about the fact that nobody can stop Sera Finale. He also lists things he never did or never will do. So he would never forget where he came from, he never doubted what he was doing and he would never abandon his family. He also briefly mentions his daughter.
Mama
The song Mama is dedicated to Sera Finale's mother. In it he thanks her and looks back on his childhood. He also apologizes to his mother for some incidents.
Mein Freund
In Mein Freund he addresses his relationship to God without using the word "God". He describes himself as religious, but without a firm belief. In the song, Sera Finale addresses God as a good friend of his and tells about the problems of the earth. So he asks him for his opinion on the Iraq war . He also thanks for his talent. At the end of each stanza he asks for a call back and gives the time.
S to F
In S to F is a typical in hip-hop representer in which the rapper himself is superior and incomparable than the competition. In the text he compares himself to Don Vito Corleone from the film The Godfather .
Little Time
In the track Little Time , Sera Finale, King Orgasmus One and Godsilla list what else they want to do. King Orgasmus One wishes to be able to fly, to be immortal , to have a cure for cancer and never to have trouble again. Sera Finale raps a. a. that he would like to record an album with Rapper Game . Godsilla, who takes on the third verse, wishes his CDs to sell 100,000 times, which corresponds to gold status . In the chorus, Sera Finale raps that they still have a lot to do but have little time.
Manifest
The final title Manifest is by far the longest title on the LP. Its structure is similar to the Serafiniert song Endlich . In both songs Sera Finale raps through and dispenses with a refrain . There are also parallels to each other in the rap technique. Sera Finale summarizes various topics in terms of content. He dedicates lines to the third world , war , hip-hop , his daughter, his wife and his fans.

The main part of the album was the Berlin hip-hop producer Djorkaeff produced . This showed up for the beats of That is , I celebrate myself , Everything is so easy , The next ball in the run , Berlin , With her , Queen vom Kiez II , S must go on , Never , Mama , My friend , S to F and little Time responsible. In addition, well-rehearsed instruments were used in many pieces . Thus, on The , I celebrate myself , the next ball over , Berlin , go south must , Mama and my friend a guitar played by Marius Mahn. In I celebrate myself and With her Djorkaeff also used a keyboard to produce the music . In the first track Das ist, you can hear typical hip-hop scratches . With this DJ technique, sounds are generated by manually moving a moving record back and forth . This sound generation was made in the corresponding title by DJ Danetic. Sera Finale justified the use of this stylistic device with the fact that he grew up with cuts and is nowadays cut far too little.
Two other tracks were produced by Beatzarre . These productions can be assigned to the songs Zu dir and Manifest . The album was mixed and mastered by Serk at the I Luv Money Studios in Berlin .
Guest Posts
There are only two guest posts on the album, so-called featurings . These are in a short time . On this song Sera Finale is supported by his two Berlin label colleagues King Orgasmus One and Godsilla , who now only appears under the name Silla. King Orgasmus One raps the first, Sera Finale the second and Godsilla the third and last verse . The refrain, however, is only sung by Sera Finale.
Originally, guest contributions from MOK and Megaloh were also planned. However, this did not materialize for unknown reasons. There have already been collaborations with MOK on his albums Das Beste (2006) and Hustler (2007). With Megaloh, Sera Finale recorded the song Remember me for his album Rhyme in business .

The only video on the album was shot with the title Berlin . This premiered in October 2006 for the release of the rap sampler , on which the song was also featured. Various locations within Berlin were used for the video . The video shows recordings in front of the Olympic Stadium , on Alexanderplatz , at the Curry 36 snack stand on Mehringdamm or in the former Berlin-Tempelhof Airport . In addition, excerpts from a boxing match can be seen several times .
In the run-up to the album release , a so-called snippet of the album was released for free download . All titles were briefly played in it to give the listener an impression of the LP.
As part of the album promotion, Sera Finale was featured on Juice CD # 79 with the exclusive title Never too late . This was included in the 10/2007 Juice edition. The song was produced by Djorkaeff.
criticism
The hip-hop - magazine Juice awarded the album 4.5 out of 6 crowns. The editor noticed above all the development that the Berlin rapper had behind him. He has grown up and so the whole album is more thoughtful. "More substantial lyrics, more melancholy hooks, more melodious beats and a rumbling grating voice that one was not used to from him in this form" can be heard on the album. But he has not lost his pun and “still drops a lot of funny anecdotes and comparisons” and “expands the vocabulary in the style of a great MC”. Sera Finale manages to "place positive and negative statements in a relational context, thereby expressing a certain severity, but at the same time conveying a positive basic attitude towards life in general". The productions were also successful, and the two guest contributions by King Orgasmus One and Godsilla were also praised. In summary, The Next Ball in the Run is “nothing less than a coherent, well thought-out, round manifesto of a great love for rap”.
The Internet platform Rap4Fame rated the album 4.5 out of a possible 5 crowns. The album was described as "more mature". A further development of the artist is clearly recognizable. Overall, Sera Finale is “perhaps not as ignorant as KIZ , not as innovative as Maeckes & Plan B and technically not as outstanding as Olli Banjo ”, but the album is one of the highlights from 2007.
The editorial team of rap.de rated the next ball in the barrel using a rating system that was similar to an analog thermometer . The needle hit the upper right area. Editor Nora described the album as a very diverse album, but on closer listening it turns out to be honest and personal music. Sera Finale combines his hard, dark voice perfectly with the melodic beats and thus prevents cheesy songs. The word games were also mentioned positively. The partially sung hooks round off the positive overall picture. Overall, the album is a musical palace . The rapper created easily comprehensible images through his words. Each track creates its own atmosphere and there are no low points.
The German daily newspaper (taz) rated the album positively. Sera Finale also has the typical demeanor of gangster rap . However, his content is more differentiated than that of other rappers. The rape was described as "elegent". The beats, on the other hand, were described as "old-fashioned, sometimes reminiscent of the early days of Californian G-Funk ", where "every second song sounds like copied from Tupac Shakur ". However, this should not be charged as a reproach, but as a "loving tribute and consistent implementation".
