Figures from South Park

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article describes the main characters in the South Park animated series .

overview

The main characters from South Park are Eric, Kyle, Stan and Kenny. In addition, many other characters appear in the course of the series, the most important of which are Butters, Randy Marsh and Wendy Testaburger.

main characters

Eric Theodore Cartman

Features: light blue hat, including light brown hair, red jacket, brown trousers and a corpulent build.

Eric Cartman has a corpulent physique and is therefore often the target of ridicule among the young residents of South Park, especially within the circle of friends of the four main characters, where he is often referred to as "fatass" by Kyle and Stan. However, he himself - like his family - is convinced that he only has “heavy bones” and is actually slim, or that he still has to “grow into his body” and “only get in shape”, as he did from his mother is persuaded. She spoils him to the highest degree and in some situations is a slave to him. This is another reason why Cartman is warped and full of stereotypical attitudes , especially towards Jews . So Adolf Hitler one of his greatest influences, he often emphasized in great detail and also in social Darwinist and chauvinistic expresses actions and views. Another role model is Mel Gibson , who made himself very popular with him through the film The Passion of the Christ . Cartman is mostly sadistic, calculating, and selfish (traits that become more and more evident in later seasons). His aversion to hippies (translated as “Ökofritzen” in the first few seasons) is obvious. In the early episodes of the series, Kenny is his best friend, but later the good-natured Butters takes this position, who believes everything Eric tells him and supports him in every endeavor. He constantly tries to play badly to his classmates, especially his friends Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Butters. According to the creators, he is "the filthy little bastard that is inside each of us".

He has poor school grades. Nevertheless, he is an intelligent boy who knows how to fool and manipulate the people around him - very often his supposed friends and his mother - again and again. Occasionally, however, the viewer is also given the opportunity to look behind the facade that Cartman has built for himself. Behind it comes a desperate little boy who lacks a father figure in his life. What crowns this state of affairs is the fact that Mrs. Cartman makes little effort to keep her sexual escapades a secret from her son.

It is only in the 201st episode that it is revealed that Jack Tenorman is his father; Unaware of this, Cartman had previously arranged for his death in order to get revenge on Scott Tenorman (his half-brother). Until then he had been led to believe that his mother was a hermaphrodite and actually his biological father; Since episodes 200 and 201 were never broadcast in Germany, let alone translated, hardly anyone knows.

According to the creators of South Park, Eric Cartman is based on the character Archie Bunker from All in the Family .

In later episodes, Cartman is barely taken seriously by Stan and Kyle when he invents a new conspiracy that mostly targets Kyle.

In season 20, Eric is in a relationship with Heidi Turner . Since both no longer have social media accounts, they feel increasingly sympathetic to each other. Although their relationship grows tense towards the end of season 20, the two stay together.

Kyle Broflovski

Features: green hat with earmuffs, including red hair, orange jacket and pants in olive

Kyle represents the alter ego of creator Matt Stone , comes from a Jewish family like him and is one of the few sensible people in South Park alongside Stan. Especially by Cartman Kyle is attacked because of his Jewish affiliation and sometimes even put in tricky situations. With his father being a fairly successful lawyer, Kyle is also the wealthiest of the quartet.

Kyle has an adoptive Canadian brother named Ike Moisha and a cousin named Kyle. Long, curly, red hair is hidden under his cap. His birthday is May 26th. It has been known since season four that Kyle has been a diabetic all his life. His first big love is Rebecca.

Kyle's parents are Sheila and Gerald; their behavior was taken over in an exaggerated way by Matt Stone's parents, who are also called Sheila and Gerald.

Stanley "Stan" Marsh

Features: blue hat, including black hair, brown jacket and blue trousers

Stan represents the alter ego of creator Trey Parker . He is sensible, intelligent and often acts as a mediator between Cartman, Kyle and Kenny. He is the most emotional of the quartet, which is reflected, for example, in his love for Wendy or in dealing with emotionally touching situations.

Actually, only Stan and Kyle are truly close friends. Cartman is tolerated more than liked, and Kenny is separated by a clear social and intellectual gap.

Stan's most noticeable quality is his willingness to take initiative and perception, which usually ends at the end of a program in a moral conclusion such as “I learned something today…”. In some cases, Kyle or an adult takes on this part. Once Cartman takes on this part, it tends to lead to a pointless or twisted conclusion. The biggest fight Stan has to fight in daily life with his sister Shelly, who goes through the climax of her puberty in the course of the series. He is usually the victim who is bullied and beaten up by her.

Stan's parents are named Randy and Sharon, as are Trey Parker's parents. Trey Parker also has a sister named Shelly.

Kenneth "Kenny" James McCormick

Features: orange parka with hood pulled over the head, underneath blonde hair and orange trousers

Kenny's family is very poor , which Cartman likes to make fun of. Nevertheless, he occasionally has expensive hobbies, for example a PlayStation Portable (PSP). A running gag in South Park is that until the end of season five, Kenny dies in (almost) every episode in a mostly bizarre way, but reappears in the next episode. If Kenny dies, this is usually followed by the exclamation Stan or Kyle used, “Oh my God! You killed Kenny! ”-“ You (damned) pigs! ”. This is often parodied within the series when the two are busy and only reproduce the saying very emotionless and abbreviated. As the series progressed, it became known that Kenny woke up in his bed after he died. In a humorously staged interview as the opening credits for the first episodes, Trey Parker and Matt Stone , the makers of South Park, unanimously answered the question of why they let Kenny die permanently: "Because he's poor." The real reason for that Kenny's frequent film death was explained by Trey Parker in an interview. Accordingly, the character had already been christened Kenny, and while enjoying the Kilkenny beer brand with Matt Stone, the running gag "Kill Kenny" developed, which was to lead to frequent film deaths. Kenny rarely speaks; if he does, he mumbles into his hood, so that his statements are usually completely incomprehensible to the audience - unlike the residents of South Park. His comments or utterances are often full of profanity. For the German dubbing, Sabine Bohlmann speaks complete sentences, of which she only says certain words (halfway) understandably, while mumbling the rest as incomprehensibly as possible. She holds a hand over her mouth.

The particularly early adolescent Kenny already knows a lot about sexual intercourse and is the most " mature " of boys in this regard . From the reactions of his friends one can often infer that many of his statements are obscene or pornographic - another running gag of the series. Although he is a member of the Stan, Kyle, and Cartman clique, he appears to be an outsider, as his friends often talk to each other without his involvement. Kyle says in the episode "The wind told me a poke" that he is actually not friends with Kenny and he doesn't care whether Kenny is fine or not.

Only very rarely, for the first time in the South Park film, is Kenny seen without his parka; Then an inconspicuous blond boy emerges.

Kenny had two friends so far: Kelly and Tammy.

After his “final” death in the fifth season, only his soul existed until the end of the sixth season , which was briefly trapped in Eric Cartman's body because Cartman had mistaken Kenny's ashes for cocoa powder and had drunk them. In the Christmas episode of the sixth season, however, Kenny returns - in typical South Park style, only with the laconic comment "Have been on vacation". Since then, Kenny's deaths became rarer and more irregular. In addition, they began to reproduce Kenny's pronunciation more clearly, so that it can now also be understood in German.

In an episode of the 13th season, Kenny appears as the dark avenger "Mysterion" in the style of Nolan Batman with a disguised voice and initially comes into competition with "Coon", which is embodied by Cartman. This storyline will continue in some of the 14th season episodes in which Cartman runs the superhero union "Coon and Friends," which includes Mysterion.

Kenny has a big brother named Kevin and a younger sister named Karen who makes her first appearance at the beginning of season nine. He has on March 22nd Birthday.

parents

Liane Cartman

Cartman's mother is severely nymphomaniac and refuses to admit that she has a completely miserable son. In contrast to him, she is not particularly intelligent, very generous, good-natured and quite naive, especially when it comes to the development of her son, whom she constantly calls "Pupselchen". Cartman regularly exploits this to manipulate them.

Mrs. Cartman has had sexual intercourse with almost all of the male and various female residents of South Park. In the course of the series, her sexual permissiveness, which is hidden behind her inconspicuous appearance, is repeatedly alluded to. This running gag, which has been used since the beginning of the series, will also be continued in later seasons.

Randall "Randy" Marsh

Randy Marsh is Stan's father. He works as a geologist and is occasionally seen as the only scientist in South Park and is consulted with related problems, including those unrelated to geology. Randy, who seems immature, often acts melodramatically and tends to exaggerate in assessments of situations, trends, news and dangers, which is why he often has to be brought back to his senses by his son of all people. At the same time Randy tries to be the family's good conscience. He has an older brother named Jimbo Kern and is the son of Marvin Marsh , who temporarily lives in his house . Furthermore, Randy has created a secret identity with his alter ego Lorde , a pop singer.

Sharon Marsh

Stan's mother Sharon, who was still called Carol in the first season, is one of the more inconspicuous characters compared to other protagonists, but she creates a basis for conflicts in the Marshs' household. She often argues with her husband and tries to teach him when he follows a trend or behaves immaturely. The occasionally obvious instability of the marriage between Randy and Sharon is discussed several times within the series. This almost results in separation for both partners.

Gerald Broflovski

Gerald Broflovski is Kyle's father and a successful lawyer who likes to withhold the content of his activities from his family. When Kyle finds out about his father's moral missteps, the latter confuses him with complex anecdotes about human society. Gerald's wife Sheila, from whom he differs in many sociological aspects, is the opposite of him, especially with her behavior. Gerald represents a father role typical of the western world, in which he keeps the family alive financially, but hardly takes any initiative outside of his job. He had a close friendship with Kenny's father in the past and is now friends with Randy Marsh.

Sheila Broflovski

Kyle's mother is an easily irritable, overweight woman who always vigorously advocates the protection of her children or various minorities - usually with disastrous results. For example, in the 1999 film she was responsible for the declaration of war on Canada , which almost resulted in the end of the world .

She does not tolerate any criticism of her actions and is often obsessed with an ideal that she tries to enforce under all circumstances. Their assumption that they are doing what's right for the South Parks community is often mistaken.

Stuart McCormick

Kenny's father, an unemployed alcoholic , lives with his family in the poor neighborhood of South Park and is an avid reader of sex magazines. In his youth he was close friends with Kyle's father Gerald, but during that career as a lawyer, Stuart and his family now embodies the cliché of the working-class family with a lack of willingness to work, known in the US as White Trash . The social and intellectual gap led to the rapid dissolution of friendship.

Carol McCormick

Kenny's mother, like her husband, lives on government support. The red-haired Carol usually wears a green T-shirt, which is decorated with the sentence I'm with stupid (I'm with / with a stupid) and an arrow that always points in the direction of the person closest to her. She is of Roman Catholic faith and, like her husband Stuart, has an affinity for alcoholic beverages.

Stephen Stotch & Linda Stotch

Stephen and Linda are the strict parents of Butters, who often place their son under house arrest for minor matters. Stephen is bisexual and has been a frequent guest in corresponding establishments.

Steve Black & Linda Black

Steve and Linda are Token’s parents . They both have good jobs and earn more than any other South Park resident. Eric Cartman dislikes that Token's parents have a big house and can afford a lot, but he visits them more often when he feels bad or threatened.

Jack Tenorman †

Jack Tenorman is the father of Scott Tenorman. In the 201st episode of the series , which is not broadcast in Germany, it is revealed that Jack Tenorman is the biological father of Eric Cartman and that he emerged from a secret relationship with Liane Cartman .

Jack Tenorman takes a central role in the episode "Scott Tenorman Must Die". In the course of this, as intended by Cartman, he and his wife are shot by the farmer Carl Denkins and then processed into chilli by Eric Cartman , who wants to take revenge on Scott Tenorman.

Other children

Jimmy Valmer

Features: brown hair, yellow sweater, walking aid

Jimmy is a disabled, stuttering, but intelligent boy who relies on the use of crutches to get around. His gaze is usually directed diagonally upwards and his lower lip rests on the upper lip. Jimmy enjoys telling jokes and is a frequent comedian in his spare time . A phrase he often uses is “Wow, you are a great audience!”.

When Jimmy was introduced at the beginning of season five, his last name was Swanson, but this was later changed to Valmer for reasons unknown .

Jimmy's parents consider their son's handicap to be a punishment from God because they always made fun of handicapped people.

Leopold "Butters" Stotch

Features: blonde hair with a small centered hairline, turquoise jacket, dark green pants

Butters is a kind and extremely naive boy with a childlike imagination that his friends often take advantage of. At the beginning of the sixth season he is hired to replace the late Kenny, with whom he is friends. After he was fired as Kenny replacement by the other boys, Butters takes on a second identity as the super villain "Professor Chaos" in order to take revenge on society and spread chaos - which mostly fails because of his harmless deeds. Since then he has often appeared as a classic adversary when the four friends play different righteous characters.

Butters' parents are apparently only interested in his upbringing and hardly interested in his well-being. Butters is brought up very strictly and authoritarian by them , so that he constantly has to fear of being placed under house arrest . Because of this upbringing, he appears very naive and his behavior is very different from the other children. From the eighth season onwards, Butters can often be heard singing a little song with the text "Lululu, I like apples more than you", which highlights his childlike character. He is often targeted by Cartman, whose clear favorite victim he is. Despite all the naivety, it is occasionally suggested that Butters does not particularly like Cartman and does not trust him unconditionally. Butters often appears at school as the boy who hectically informs the others of explosive topics and processes.

While Butters plays a rather insignificant role at the beginning of the series, from the sixth season onwards he appears more and more often and in more important roles alongside the three or four main characters.

Butters' birthday is September 11th and his characteristics and demeanor pay homage to one of the South Park production team: Eric Stough - Director of Animation.

Phillip "Pip" Pirrup †

Features: red jacket , green bow tie that is much too big and a hat that is also green

Pip is often referred to as French by Eric but is from England . His upbringing as a "gentleman" and his correspondingly great courtesy make him a popular target for the teasing of his classmates. Pip is an allusion to the protagonist of the same name in the novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens . In the episode Great Expectations , this famous Dickens novel is parodied. The plot follows the original story almost completely and only contains the humor typical of the series at the end of the episode. Although he helps the South Park dodgeball team win the World Cup, nothing changes in his situation as what appears to be the city's biggest underdog. In episode 201 , Pip dies when he is trampled to death by Robo-Streisand.

Timmy Burch

Characteristics: wheelchair , oversized head and mostly handicapped-looking smile on the face

Timmy is a disabled boy who joins class at the beginning of season four. In addition to his physical disability, he has a congenital language disorder and communicates mainly by calling out his name in the form of "TIMMÄÄHHH !!!". In some episodes he also uses the phrase "Lies bring shame" (in English "Living a lie"). His parents, Richard and Helen suffer from the same disability. In Jimmy , who is also disabled , he initially sees his greatest enemy and competitor, but as the series continues, both become friends.

The chairmen of the television station Comedy Central originally did not want to allow Timmy's introduction. The representation was only possible through the social integration into the group, which treats him like a normal member.

Tweek tweak

Features: blonde, shaggy hair, dark green, badly buttoned shirt, purple trousers, tense facial expression with tics and tremors

The tweaks run a coffee shop and give their son large amounts of coffee to drink every day. This is, among other things, the reason that Tweek looks very fidgety and nervous and suffers from paranoia . He is always very tense, keeps winking and usually only speaks in short sentences. His parents, however, are convinced that the hyperactivity syndrome ADS is responsible for his condition. A frequently used exclamation by Tweek is: "I can't take the pressure!"

After Butters is temporarily replaced in the circle of friends of the three main characters in the sixth season Kenny and then fired, Tweek acts temporarily as the fourth member of the group. Since the episode Tweek x Craig (season 19 episode 6), Craig has had a relationship with Tweek.

Wendy Testaburger

Features: black, long hair with a pony, purple jacket, yellow pants and pink cap

Wealthy, but occasionally arrogant, Wendy is Bebe Stevens ' best friend and is perceived by the students as one of the prettiest, smartest, and hardest-working kids at South Park Elementary School. She represents feminist positions and is - intermittently - Stan's girlfriend. However, there is never a kiss between the two of them because Stan has to throw up just before each time.

Wendy's constant opponent is Cartman, who obviously doesn't like Wendy's popularity.

Clyde Donovan

Features: brown hair, burgundy jacket and dark gray trousers

The occasionally emotional Clyde is a shy boy who often appears as a supporting character in the course of the series, but sometimes in roles that are more relevant to the plot of the respective episode.

Otherwise, Clyde, who can often be seen at Butters 'side - for example in Cartmanland , where the two are the first to enter the amusement park of the same name - is more of a quiet minor character who is not really interested in the four friends' activities. So it often happens that he prefers to devote himself to other pleasures than to stand by them. He also stands out with dry sayings, is mostly a follower and can occasionally be seen in the presence of Craig.

In the episode Riding Backwards , Clyde accidentally kills his mother by once again leaving the toilet seat folded up, whereupon his mother falls into the toilet and her organs are sucked out by the negative pressure when the flush is activated.

Craig Tucker

Features: blue hat with yellow bobble, including black hair, blue jacket and black trousers

Partly considered a thug, Craig is a classmate of the four main characters and doesn't care about the boys' adventures. To a certain extent, he has a “no-go” mood, so that he usually speaks little and with recognizable disinterest. In addition, Craig shows other people the middle finger, especially in the first few episodes. Other characteristics of Craig include an aggressive, cynical and ironic behavior. A similar behavior is also very pronounced in his family. Craig forms a kind of gang together with Token, Tweak and Clyde, sometimes also with Jason or Jimmy, in which he mostly acts like the leader, and is a regular at school psychologist Mr. Mackey. Since the episode Tweek x Craig (season 19 episode 6), Craig has had a relationship with Tweek.

Token Black

Marks: Token is African American and wears a purple t-shirt with a "T" on it

Coming from a wealthy family, the token is the only black kid in South Park. As a result of clichés that are widespread, particularly in the United States, he has to assert himself repeatedly, especially against Cartman. In one episode of the series, he convinces many black celebrities to settle in South Park, but they move away soon afterwards, as they have been rejected by most of the residents because of their wealth.

The word " token " stands for "quota blacks" in films.

Bebe Stevens

Features: blond curly hair, red jacket and green trousers

Bebe Stevens is Wendy's best friend, with whom she often holds encouraging “women's talks”, and also attends South Park Elementary School. Bebe is a precocious, young girl who is very careful about her appearance and shows keen interest in the opposite sex from an early age. She often appears as a supporting character, but also takes on plot-bearing roles as the series progresses, for example in the episode Bebe's Breasts Bringing War , when her breasts grow as the first girl in class, which leads to all boys acting like monkeys .

Ike Broflovski

Features: black hair, romper suit, in kindergarten green T-shirt with a sailing boat on it, still speaks "baby language"

Ike is from Canada and is similar in appearance to the other Canadians in the series. Before he was given up for adoption and taken in by Kyle's parents, his name was Peter Gins. Since he is wrongly always considered to be above average intelligent, which has developed into a running gag, he starts kindergarten early.

In the episode Schoolboy Report , the running gag is taken to extremes when he and his preschool teacher fall in love and start a relationship.

Shelly Marsh

Shelly is Stan's abusive , braced older sister. She does not tolerate her brother making fun of her and regularly beats him up. In an episode in which she is supposed to take care of Cartman, she has a relationship with a grown-up guitar player named Skyler, who later also plays with the "Princes of Darkness". But this breaks up with her because she doesn't want to "let him run". With Cartman, she takes revenge on him at the end of the episode. Rumor has it that she is having an affair with Kenny's older brother Kevin.

Kyle Schwartz

Features: curly hair, big glasses, nerdy appearance

Kyle is the cousin of Kyle Broflovski . He is from Connecticut , looks unappealing and is very unsportsmanlike. He cannot eat many things due to health problems, and he has asthma . Kyle Broflovski doesn't like his cousin, who in turn thinks him and his friends are "dull cheeks".

Heidi Turner

Features: long brown hair, red cap, green jacket and gray trousers

Heidi is in fourth grade at South Park Elementary School. Her best friend is Wendy , so she too belongs to the group of popular girls.

Heidi has been with Eric Cartman since season 20, as both no longer have any social media accounts. They even decide to fly to Mars together.

In an earlier episode, the two had to take care of an egg together as "parents" during a school experiment.

Nichole Daniels

Features: Nichole is African American and wears her hair in the shape of an Odango

Nichole is new to fourth grade at South Park Elementary School. She quickly makes friends with the other girls and becomes a cheerleader . Eric tries to pair her with Token , the only other African American classmate, which he finally succeeds.

Terrance Mephisto

Features: brown hair, purple shirt, yellow suspenders

Terrance also goes to South Park Elementary School. He is the son of Dr. Alphonse Mephisto and is mostly seen with his friends Bill Allen and Fosse McDonald. He appears as an opponent of Eric and Co. While Terrance made regular appearances in the first season, he is hardly present later.

Goth kids

The Goth kids also go to South Park Elementary School. They are dressed in black, hang out in a corner of the school yard, smoke, drink coffee and are always in a bad mood. Others mistake them for either vampire children or emos . The group consists of four members of different ages and genders.

Sixth graders

The sixth graders prefer to ride their bikes around the area. Your spokesman has longer brown hair and is wearing a green T-shirt with his likeness on it. If Eric and Co. are really in trouble, they sometimes ask the sixth graders for help (e.g. in the episode “Preschool”).

More figures

Veronica Crabtree †

Veronica Crabtree is the bus driver for the school bus at South Park Elementary School. As a rule, she expresses herself vulgarly and loudly and is noticeable on the outside due to her unkempt appearance and a bird that is always in her hair. In the episode Cartman's incredible gift , she falls victim to a serial killer after a long period of abstinence.

Sister Gollum

Sister Gollum is the nurse in South Park. She is noticeable because a fetus protrudes from her left temple. Despite her handicap, she makes a friendly and balanced impression.

Mr. Hankey

Mr. Hankey is a Christmas character in South Park. He is a piece of feces that always wears a Santa hat and lives in the sewer with his family (an alcoholic woman and three children). When Mr. Hankey appears, characteristic accompanying music is often heard. He has magical powers based on the vast mass of the contents of the sewer system .

Herbert Garrison

Mr. Garrison is the gay , schizophrenic, and racist elementary school teacher for the children. At the beginning he denies his homosexuality and transfers it to his finger puppet Mr. Cylinder ("Mr. Hat"), which is temporarily replaced by Mr. Zweig ("Mr. Twig"). Mr. Top Hat is described as the evil side of Mr. Garrison. He expresses what he dares to think. In addition, the doll can act independently, it fights with other teachers, helps Mr. Garrison and the head chef out of prison and is a member of the Ku Klux Klan . During the period when Mr. Garrison is denying his homosexuality, he is often referred to as gay by residents of the city (especially Jimbo ). He always replies that he hates gays until he admits his homosexuality to himself.

When Garrison reveals his homosexuality, he is fired and has to teach the kindergarten children. In the following years he puts down the figure of Mr. Cylinder. When the boys move up to fourth grade and their old teacher dies, Mr. Garrison is allowed to teach them again because his homosexuality is now legally tolerated. Garrison wants to take advantage of this anti-discrimination law by bringing his life partner Mr. Sklave to class as an assistant and performing sexual acts on him in order to provoke his renewed dismissal and thus collect compensation for pain and suffering, which however fails . At the beginning of the ninth season, Mr. Garrison undergoes a sex change and is now called Mrs. Garrison, whereupon Mr. Slave breaks up with him and begins a relationship with Big Gay Al. After realizing that he cannot get pregnant and that he is therefore not a real woman, he is being operated on again into a man in the twelfth season. Nothing is known about Mr. Garrison's current sexual orientation.

In season 20, Garrison's long-cherished wish to become President of the United States comes true. In this position he resembles Donald Trump in appearance and behavior .

Jerome "Chef" McElroy Junior †

Chart positions
Explanation of the data
Singles
Chocolate Salty Balls (PS. I Love You) (Jerome McElroy as Chef)
  UK 1Template: Infobox chart placements / maintenance / NR1 link December 26, 1998 (13 weeks)

Features: chef's hat, red t-shirt, blue pants, white apron

The Afro-American cook in the school canteen , originally from Scotland and professing to the Islamic religion, is a frequent contact and close confidante of the central circle of friends for questions and private problems. In doing so, he often has to discuss issues that are considered sensitive and that are avoided by the parents of the children, such as sexual education. Since he himself has a great interest in women and is very active sexually, he gives the children information, albeit reluctantly, even on sensitive questions. The “head chef” gives his answers in the form of songs, but these do not always fit the topic addressed. In addition, the head chef coaches the elementary school's South Park Cows dodgeball and football team . Chef dies when he falls down a cliff and is eaten by a bear.

Jesus

Features: long hair, beard, halo, kind of toga, sandals

Jesus has his own television series called "Jesus and his buddies" (English "Jesus and pals") in the " Open Channel " of South Park and can be seen regularly at the beginning of the series. He speaks in a calm voice, is helpful and often tries to convince people around him of new ideas. In the sixth season he is shot by Iraqis at Christmas , but returns in episode 100, in which he is briefly seen in a large crowd. Since then, he has appeared more frequently again, but at irregular intervals, for example when his help is deemed necessary.

Satan

Features: red skin, muscular body, torn trousers with a skull as a belt buckle, hooves as feet, beard, yellow eyes, yellow horns

Satan first appeared in the first season episode Damien . In this episode, he competes against Jesus in the ring and deliberately loses, but wins a lot of money because he was the only one in South Park to bet on Jesus. In the first season he is characterized as cunning and demonic. In the later seasons as well as in the film, however, he appears as "the ruler of hell with a soft core". Satan is homosexual and also has a relationship with Saddam Hussein , who he feels misunderstood and sexually exploited. After Satan doesn't know what to do next, he takes advice from God, who then recommends that he break up with Saddam. Saddam is banished to heaven for spatial separation.

In another episode he tries to conquer the sky with an army of demons, which can only be thwarted thanks to Kenny's (double) death and the golden PSP .

He has an eight-year-old son named Damien, who appears in the episode of the same name. Satan lives in a house on the lava lake with his own jetty and regularly gives barbecues for his friends.

Officer Barbrady

Features: police uniform , sunglasses and a stupid expression

The former illiterate Barbrady is a particularly in the early seasons appearing, moronic and violent policeman, who for a long time was the only police force in South Park. He often observes crimes without doing anything and lets them happen without any action on his part. He then comments on such situations with words like “There's nothing to see here!” Or “Carry on!”. In the episode Resistance Is Futile , however, he also shows a sensible side when he teaches Cartman that he must not kill anyone.

Jimbo Kern & Ned Gerblansky

Jimbo is Stan's uncle and Randy's older brother . Ned is Jimbo's best friend from the Vietnam War and also a war invalid who lost an arm to his own grenade . In addition, he has lost his voice due to constant smoking and is dependent on electronic speaking aids . The two are passionate hunters ; Before they brutally kill a harmless deer or a cute bunny with a mostly inappropriately large-caliber weapon, they shout out “It's coming straight at us!” This is how they can circumvent nature conservation laws by invoking self-defense. When this rule no longer applies, they use the pretext to minimize the number of animals in order to save them from extinction. They are also staunch patriots , have a gun shop called Jimbo's Guns, and have had their own TV show called Hunting and Killing.

Mayor McDaniels

She is only concerned about the good image of herself and that of the city, rather incompetent, power-obsessed and always needs her two assistants around her. There are also (very direct) indications of a cooperation with the Japanese mafia. McDaniels was caught having sex with both Officer Barbrady and her assistants at the beginning of the series . She was probably one of the women who slept with Mrs. Cartman .

Principal Victoria

Victoria Stein is the principal of South Park Elementary School. She has voluminous yellow hair and an aversion to Eric Cartman. She runs the school flawlessly, but is often criticized by Mr. Garrison .

In later episodes she loses her job due to an intrigue from Mr. Mackey, because he could no longer stand her.

Mr. Mackey

Mr. Mackey is the trust teacher and school psychologist and is therefore often preoccupied with children's problems. He often ends sentences with the saying "m'kay" ( "clear" in later episodes of the German version ), from which his name can be traced back. Mr. Mackey's head is swollen because of his tightly tied tie. In the film he tries to heal the "failed" children.

Mr. Mackey is passionate about drugs, but temporarily loses his job and begins to use drugs himself. He also gets to know his great love, a hippie girl, and gets off drugs. But she is kidnapped by thugs (a comic version of the " A-Team ") on behalf of the teachers and he never sees his lover again.

As a child, he was raped by Woodsy Owl . In Hundemelken he has a relationship with the four boys' elementary school teacher, Mrs. Choksondik .

PC principal

PC Principal is the new director of South Park Elementary School. He is tough and strict, especially towards Eric and Leslie , and takes uncompromising action against any kind of intolerance and discrimination. He belongs to the party-happy PC brotherhood, which is committed to physical fitness and political correctness .

He's mid-30s, muscular, and initially feared by Eric, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny, but that changes when they realize his real intentions.

Diane Choksondik †

Mrs. Choksondik is Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny's new class teacher in fourth grade. Their most noticeable feature is their large, drooping breasts . When she lifts her arms up, her sweater also stands out a bit and the ends of her breasts appear. She comes from Denver and is generally regarded as a strict teacher, but initially does not get along with the cheeky children, which is why she seeks advice from Mr. Garrison . In the episode Dog Milking , she has a relationship with the school psychologist Mackey , in the episode Professor Chaos she dies.

Her name is homophonic to " chokes on dick ", a similarity intended by the creators of the series.

Dr. Alphonse Mephisto

Mephisto is a crazy genetic engineer who always appears with an indefinable mute creature named Kevin. He often tries to improve animals genetically by breeding them with extra butts. He is convinced that a being with multiple butts is superior to all other beings. He also has a walking stick on which there is also a buttock. He is a member of the "National Association of Marlon Brando Look-Alikes" (NAMBLA), an association of Marlon Brando- alikes . This is related to the fact that the character is based on Dr. Moreau (especially from the 1996 John Frankenheimer film), who like Dr. Mephisto is also accompanied by a smaller version of himself and was also played by Marlon Brando.

Marvin "Grandpa" Marsh

Stan's paternal grandfather is the focus of several episodes in which the problems of (and with) old people are discussed. The neurotic pensioner, who always calls his grandson Stan “Billy”, often tries to put an end to his life and to get those around him to help him. Otherwise, he stands out every now and then due to his pronounced nationalistic tendencies. He is a source of useless wisdom for the four boys.

Terrance and Phillip

Terrance and Phillip are a Canadian comedy duo with their own television series . Their appearance is reminiscent of trash cans with a hinged lid and is typical of all Canadians in the series. Its mission consists almost entirely of Furzorgien and toilet humor and was, as some people claimed that South Park consists only of Furzwitzen what Trey Parker and Matt Stone transpose as a gag. Terrance and Phillip is every boy in South Park's favorite show, which the children's parents dislike as it teaches them bad swear words. Terrance and Phillip's arch rival is the correct, always bad-tempered, humorless prosecutor Scott, who desperately wants to put them behind bars and has an aversion to Americans because he believes they want to take Canada.

Towelie

Towelie is a living, speaking, and marijuana smoking towel, the existence of which dates back to military experiments . Its purpose is to educate people about the use of towels. It first appears in the eighth episode of the fifth season. It is particularly noticeable because it gives the residents of South Park advice on towels ( “Don't forget to bring a towel” ) and is always looking for the next trip ( “Well, I'm gonna get a little high " ). Later that episode, it becomes the subject of an argument between the Army and Tynacorp, which Cartman, Kenny, Stan and Kyle are drawn into. In the episode Much Terrycloth for Nothing , it plays the main role. It writes an autobiography and, in order to sell it, has to disguise itself as a person, which is generally reminiscent of Michael Jackson's career. When it turns out that it is a towel, a lynch attempt is started. However, this is stopped as it ends a hostage situation started by Oprah Winfrey's vagina and anus .

Tuong Lu Kim

He is the Chinese owner of the “City-Wok” restaurant. His accent is partly lost in the German translation and dubbing, which makes “City” sound like “shitty”. In the name of his restaurant, this can be retained in the German episodes: "Shitty-Fuck" instead of "City-Wok"; What gets lost is “I hate this whole shitty (city)!”. His wife is the Chinese singer Wing , who also appears in an episode. In one episode he is hired to build a wall around South Park to protect the town's children from possible rapists, but the wall is always brought down by Mongols on horseback.

Tuong Lu Kim is also spelled T w ong Lu Kim in some sources .

However, he doesn't think much of the fact that priests are not allowed to marry. He is accused of having sex with a child, which is not true. He was shocked that all the other priests had sex with children.

Tom Thompson

Tom Thompson is the newscaster for channel 4. He has brown hair, a brown mustache and a coat. Tom is the station's main newscaster, which is why he's seen the most. Most of the time, his sister, Tammy Thompson, is the co-host. In later episodes, Tom and Tammy have an incestuous relationship.

Harrison "Lou" Yates

Officer Harrison Yates is the chief of police in South Park. He wears a white shirt with suspenders and constantly bends the rules. In the episode "Butters Oberbitch" he disguises himself as a prostitute to arrest men who have sex with prostitutes, although he first has sex with the men before arresting them, which the other police officers understandably find strange. His right hand is Officer Murphy.

Darryl Weathers

Redheaded, mustache and green flannel shirt, Darryl Weathers is the spokesman for the common South Park workers. He tried several times with the exclamation “You are stealing our jobs!” To incite others from the working class to resist.

Dr. gouache

Dr. Gouache is South Park's chief doctor. He is the only doctor and has gray hair and a green doctor's coat. In the episode "Redheads" he confesses to Mrs. Cartman that he doesn't like redheads and would like to have them euthanized. Otherwise he is a very inconspicuous character, who does appear in every hospital episode.

Mr. slave

Mr. Sklave or Mr. Slave is a perverted and homosexual resident of South Park. He had a longstanding relationship with Herbert Garrison. He later married Big Gay Al.

Saddam Hussein

Saddam Hussein appears in a few episodes as a supporting actor and tries a few times to gain control of Canada, but is prevented from doing so by the four friends and Terrance and Phillip. After dying in the real world and now going to hell, he starts a homosexual relationship with Satan in which he wants "hard" sex from him. This relationship fails in the movie, but comes up again in the series. Since Saddam tries to kill Satan's new lover (Chris), Satan rejects him and decides not to want to have a relationship anymore. He then sends Saddam, after a request to God, to heaven so that he can finally have his peace of mind, but in the episode "A Ladder to Heaven", Saddam tries to manufacture weapons of mass destruction there , disguised as a chocolate chip factory.
