The Football League Fourth Division 1959/60 was the second season of the fourth highest English football league . The top four teams were promoted to the Football League Third Division .

At the end of the season, AFC Gateshead was replaced by Peterborough United . The FC Southport , Oldham Athletic and Hartlepools United , which were also among the last four , received enough votes in the reelection process of the league association to be allowed to participate again in the Fourth Division in the following 1960/61 season.
