This discography is an overview of the musical works of the German musician , producer and lyricist Frank Farian . According to record awards and sources, he has sold more than 29.1 million records in his solo career as an author, performer and music producer. Farian's most successful publication is the author's participation and production of Rivers of Babylon for Boney M. with around 10.7 million units sold.

In his home country Germany he sold over 4.3 million records. At the beginning of his career Farian was still active as a pop singer, later he concentrated on writing and producing songs. As a singer, he was only able to celebrate chart successes in German-speaking countries. Farian's most successful hit was Rocky from 1976. The Austin Roberts cover made it to the top position of the German single charts and was awarded a gold record . The single has been one of the best-selling German-language hits in Germany since 1975.

As a writer and producer, Farian has achieved worldwide chart successes. He is one of the few German musicians who managed to reach the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 . With his project around Milli Vanilli , he succeeded three times within half a year with the titles Baby Don't Forget My Number , Girl I'm Gonna Miss You and Blame It on the Rain . In Germany, a total of six of his author participations (music / text) made it to the top of the chart, making him one of the most successful authors in chart history . With Dieter Bohlen (21) and Kurt Feltz (15), only two local people wrote more number one hits. His author participations were at the top of the German single charts for a total of 42 weeks. As a producer, he even reached the top position in Germany eleven times.
